Estimated at 100,000 square meters and costing around 800 million euros to build, the theme park will be a ride in the right direction for the TRNC’s economy.
Finally with the consent of the TRNC government, owner of GIFA, Inc., Yusuf Kisa announces that his theme park project is ready to be put into action. GIFALAND will be 100,000 square meters large and located in the country’s capital of Lefkosia, close to Ercan airport.
Kisa comments, “GIFALAND will generate and stabilise the economic growth of North Cyprus. The theme park will open hundreds of available job positions and is expected to bring in millions of euros of income to the TRNC.”
When Kisa first decided to open GIFALAND, he was offered space in between Pyla and Oraklini, bordering the Greek side of Cyprus and located within the United Nations Buffer Zone. Kisa refused the offer. “Our goal is to develop the economy of the TRNC only,” he said, “I’m very patriotic.”
The theme park, worked on by Italian, German and Turkish firms, will feature all the top rides as well as its own restaurants and hotels. GIFALAND will be open 7 days a week from 9:00 – 21:00.
