With a loss of foreign investors both in and outside of Turkey, the country faces a severe economical loss. Foreign Trade Director of Turkey’s Ziraat Bank in the Marmara region, Gaye Arslan, and Foreign Trade Officer, Ismail Acai states they are blocking all incoming transfers. Claims have been made that these persons are active members of terrorist group FETO. Turkey’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan says, “Everyone must invest in Turkey,” despite the prohibition of incoming transfers.

President Erdogan: “This is not a case of victimisation”

A while ago, President Erdogan appealed to foreign investors saying, “This is not a matter of victimisation because neither the Turkish citizens nor any of the international investors are in a state of emergency”.

Stating that the old Turkey was a thing of the past, he claimed that Turkey’s economy was moving forward, highlighting that the growth in the economy will continue in 2018. “At one point in time, outstanding debt was at the front door of the IMF when Turkey was stuck in the olden days. Foreign investors now fear that we are still the old Turkey, which is just a bitter memory of the past,” he said.

Globalturk Capital’s EMPEA cooperation said President Erdogan has sent a message to investors. Erdogan, sent the text message, despite Turkey’s inhibitions and frustrations in recent years. In his message, Erdogan states that regardless of the trials and tribulations Turkey has faced in the past few years, they are refusing to hide, and will remain firmly active in the world.

Erdogan tells investors, “We think it is important that you are here today despite all the negative propaganda abroad. With this attitude, you have shown that the real economy is not about rumors and gossip, but about facts and opportunities”
